Anna Phalikaa

The State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World, 2018, estimates in195.9 million people are undernourished in IndiaAs per Food Agriculture Organization (FAO)reports. By this measure 14.8% of the population is undernourished in India. Also, 51.4% of women in reproductive age between 15 to 49 years are anemic. Further according to the report 38.4% of the children aged under five in India are stunted (too short for their age), while 21% suffer from wasting, meaning their weight is too low for their height.

Malnourished children have a higher risk of death from common childhood illnesses. The Global Hunger Index 2017 the comparable number of Sub-Sharan Africa is apparently lower at 35%. India has the largest number of stunted children in the World at 48.2% million -- prevalence of wasting and stunting in children under 5 years, under 5 child mortality rate, and the proportion of undernourished in the population.

In the state of Tamilnadu, particularly in Burgoor Hills more than 45% children are malnourished. We are providing Shikshamurtham (Nutritious Snacks) to the children of our learning centre., Poshika Annam (Nutritious Meals) in Week-End and School holidays to the tribal children and Anna Dhan distribute meals to the general public at the time of Hindu auspicious festival days to the deprived and underserved needy persons regularly through our Anna Phalikaa - Food for Hunger tribes.


Anna Dhanam

Feeding the lesser privileged is an act of compassion that is accepted across all religions. Since time immemorial “Anna Daan” or the act of donating food is supreme and incomparable to any other form of charity. We are serving annam to the needy and the hungry destitudes on the auspicious days.


Shiskshamrutham

School-age children need healthy nutritious foods and snacks. Eating healthy after-school snacks is important, too, as these snacks may contribute up to one-fourth of the total calorie intake for the day.

Vidhyaranya to provide to the children with some amount of healthy traditional snacks rich in nutrients, vitamins, minerals, fiber and other essential amino acids must for child growth, besides Vitamin B and E and minerals like iron, phosphorus, manganese, zinc, magnesium and copperwhich are essential for their growthfor their overall development. Shikshamrutham is a caloric dense food to reduce malnutrition, our tribal kids enjoyed shikshamurtham an after school program at Vidhyaranya Learning Centre.


Poshika Annam

Vidhyaranya is provide holistic support and conduct week-end classes to the tribal children through Learning Centre.. We are counseling and motivating alongwith Poshika Annam supported by Vidhyaranya, they are get healthy and nutritious meals. We are constituted a food committee constitute by children decides the menu to add different flavor, vegetables to the main ingredients. Children excel in silambam, dance, music, archery, computers, bajans and other activities as well.
